Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, this is a great spot for lunch, happy hour, or a late night dinner (they serve until 1am). We dined here several times over the past few months but on this particular occasion the ICCA Board had lunch during their board meeting.
For starters we did several orders of the Asian Curried Steak Fries and the Tempura Bacon. The bacon was fried crisp, tempura battered and fried, then served with a Thai chili sauce for dipping. The Madras Curried Cauliflower was excellent. Wok tossed cauliflower with curry spice, ginger, mint, and a touch of sour cream. The sushi menu features many classics but also featured a few house specialties. The Wawaii roll consisted of smoked salmon, macadamia nuts, toasted coconut, served on a swirl of blueberry wasabi sauce. The combination was sweet and interesting. The Lime Rickey Shrimp were crispy fried in hichimi flour and tossed in a lemongrass vodka sauce and topped with chopped peanuts. The Red Thai Curry Shrimp were tossed in red chili, ginger, kaffir lime, and lemongrass on a bed of rice noodles with corn and sweet peppers.
The bento boxes here are excellent and showcase their award winning Pan Asian Cuisine. The Korea box featured Korean Bulgogi skirt steak and chicken pot stickers. The China box featured Chinese Five Spice salmon and Singapore noodlesl. The Thailand box was a personal favorite and consisted of Thai Crab Cakes over a spicy remoulade sauce with Singapore noodles. And last but not least, the Veggie box contained vegetable spring rolls, vegetable yakisoba, and tofu vegetable sushi roll. All boxes included miso soup, jasmine rice, and Dragonfish salad.
Stop in for their happy hour which features sushi, small plates, and cocktails all under $6 from 3-6 pm and then again from 9 pm-1 am!
