Stoneburner is named for Chef/Owner Jason Stoneburner and sits in the charming and hip neighborhood of Ballard. The menu is a collection of Italian small bites, pizzas, and entrees served in a warm, casual setting. The restaurant has a large circular bar with dim lighting and wood paneled walls with over-sized booths running the perimeter of the room.
For starters, we ordered the Crispy Castelvetrano Olives that were filled with mozzarella, the Grilled Jerusalem Artichoke with Preserved Lemon Salsa Verde, the Blistered cauliflower with oil cured olives, red onion, cashew, and mint, and the Young Beets Salad with feta, wild rice, celery hearts, and greens.
For pizza, we started with the Kitchen Pizza which was the featured pie that day, their version of Supreme if you will. The crust was crispy, thin, and bubbly. Our second pizza was the Anchovy & Bottarga pie. The crust was dressed in the house red sauce, Anchovy filets, and a sprinkle of parmesan and fresh parsley. The third pie was the Chantarelle & Potato pie done with Walla Walla onion and a creamy fonduta sauce.
