110 Bedford Avenue
Brooklyn, NY 11211
The Bedford sits facing Bedford Avenue in the revamped Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn. A quaint, unassuming spot the restaurant is actually quite spacious by New York standards. The Bedford serves brunch every day from 11am-4pm and then continues with a happy hour followed by dinner service that goes until 11pm or midnight on weekends.
We dined here on three, yes three, separate occasions and each time ordered the Avocado Toast. Simple and delicious, it is nothing more than charred buttered sourdough bread spread with a layer of mashed avocado with lime and sea salt and garnished with pickled onions and fresh cilantro - delicious.
The North Carolina Pulled Pork Hash was everything to be expected, hearty and comforting on a cold December day. A hash of potatoes, onions and peppers tossed with pulled pork and topped with two fried eggs. The Crisped Risotto Balls were basically small arancini; they were filled with herbs with a touch of lemon and pecorino.
The service was courteous and at a good pace and the interior of the restaurant was rustic yet cozy. I'd definitely like to head back for some more avocado toast and to check out their happy hour. They also have a back-room lounge, open in the late afternoon for happy hour, that has the same historic charm as the front dining room. The Bedford has been rated as a local favorite in numerous publications.
