In 1996, Guido Tremolini and Simona Faroni came from Italy to the United States with the goal to create, produce and distribute authentic Italian gelato, offering the gift of a true artisan experience. After their imported equipment was not authorized for use in the country, they embarked on a mission to get the machinery up to code while simultaneously learning the English language! Fourteen months later, G.S. Gelato received approval from both the USDA and FDA, making them the first manufacturer of artisanal gelato and sorbet in the United States.
Today, after decades of continuous growth, G.S. Gelato is a leading manufacturer of gelato, sorbetto, soft serve and non-dairy frozen desserts, servicing the entire nation with branded and private label products for the foodservice and retail/grocery industries.
While operating a 65,000 square-feet manufacturing facility, G.S. Gelato focuses on innovation intertwined with Italian tradition. We stay ahead of market trends and regulations while staying true to time-honored gelato making principles. Our facility is SQF certified, OU Kosher Certified, and many of our non-dairy flavors are Certified Vegan!
