Chef Umberto Menghi was born and raised in Tuscany and sought his training in Rome at hotel school. He then went on to train in both London and Paris and moved to Canada in the 1960's. Finding a lack of great Italian restaurants, he embarked on a journey to bring true Tuscan and Mediterranean cuisine to Canada. He now has three restaurants in Vancouver and Whistler, has published five cookbooks, and is a television host for "The Elegant Appetite". The pastry chef is also amazing using local fruits and the best global ingredients including amazing chocolates.
