A self-proclaimed “working man’s oyster bar”, Row 34 has put a modern spin on the classic New England oyster bar. Sewall works closely with Island Creek Oysters, a farm founded in 1992 in nearby Duxbury to procure the freshest local oysters. Sewall graduated from the CIA in 1992 and went to work in restaurants across the United States as well as London and Amsterdam before coming back to Boston to work at L'Espalier. He was nominated as a James Beard Rising Star Chef and then went on to open his first restaurant, Lineage. He then went on to partner with Garrett Harker as a collaborator on Kenmore Square and then with Skip Bennett to form Island Creek Oyster Bar. In 2013, the three went on to open Row 34, their more casual seafood concept.
The ICCA Culinary Immersion group ate here for the welcome dinner in September 2015. The patio was great for our large group and we ordered a smorgasbord of items to try. The group favorites were of course the oysters and the Tuna Collar.
